Returning from the Fellowship - Closing the Chapter

A friend of mine told me today that I will likely be processing my year abroad for the next five to ten years. Today I had an greater awareness of myself in a process of transition than perhaps other points in coming back.

While I will be emotionally processing and reprocessing the last year, I would like to find some closure from a research perspective. To do so, I decided to write an eBook about my year researching the solar industry. It will be a challenge to balance my other projects and commitments, but I can slowly make progress by making the prep work for the book into a daily routine. I will make a blog post everyday and through this process develop the ideas and material for the book.

On my first post, I wanted to lay out some general ideas I have for the book.

I sought to answer the question: what are the barriers to the growth of the rooftop PV industry? In the beginning, I naively thought I would find a one-size-fits-all solution, but I found each country had its own unique challenges. My hope (perhaps still naive) is that I will be able to find some commonalities between each country as I sift through my research.

In moving forward, it will be best if I work my way through each country chronologically. After trying to recover all of the information that has fallen through the holes of my memory, I can begin to draw connections across countries and industries.
